You Can Teach a Fly to Do Anything: From Doom to the Stock Market
Paolo Di Prodi has spoken at the meetup since the very first one. This time, he’ll explore what we can do with a model of the fly brain, from research into the male Drosophila central nervous system to surprisingly unconventional applications. Fly-brain models have been used for everything from playing Doom to experimenting with stock-market prediction. Paolo will also demonstrate his own experiment: teaching a model of a fly brain to fly a quadcopter.
